Professional Experience
Before joining Felipe D.J. Millan, P.C., I worked at an immigration law firm in Denver, Colorado, where I concentrated on removal defense and appellate advocacy. I’ve handled appeals before the BIA on complex issues such as adverse credibility, good moral character, particular social groups, economic harm, and more.
During my final year of law school, I served as a student attorney in the Immigration Law & Policy Clinic at the University of Denver, representing clients before EOIR, BIA, and USCIS. Prior to that, I externed with EOIR where I helped draft judicial decisions. I have also externed with the USCIS Office of Chief Counsel in Denver, Colorado which allowed me to shadow ICE/OPLA during removal proceedings.
Why I work in Immigration
I grew up in El Paso, Texas, and immigration has always been close to my heart. I’ve seen firsthand the impact immigration law can have on families and communities—especially through my mother’s own experience navigating the U.S. immigration system. My favorite part of this work is connecting with clients and hearing their powerful stories.
